Legal Framework of the Czech State Visual Identity

The Czech State Visual Identity project required careful structuring of copyright, licensing and contractual relationships.

Legal Framework of the Czech State Visual Identity

The Czech State Visual Identity is a large-scale project involving not only design, but also copyright, licensing and contractual aspects. It is not merely a logo, but a long-term visual system used across the Czech state administration.

A key issue was structuring the contractual and licensing framework in a way that would provide the state with sufficiently broad rights to use the individual outputs, while at the same time properly addressing the rights of all authors involved in the project.

We designed a contractual structure covering the individual elements of the visual identity, licensing arrangements and rules for the further development and practical operation of the system within the Czech state administration.
